Safeguarding

Excellence Girls Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of all of its students and staff.

We make keeping our students safe a priority by delivering regular training for our staff on how to protect our students. We complete strong recruitment checks on all prospective staff and vet all speakers who visit the school. We also complete regular health and safety checks of our building, grounds and equipment.

We take steps to educate staff, children and parents/carers about safeguarding issues and actions they can take through curriculum content, parent/carer events, staff training, participation in Anti-Bullying Week (Anti-Bullying Alliance) and Safer Internet Day (UK Safer Internet Centre).

Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is Deputy Headteacher, Saima Shehzad. Any safeguarding concerns should be forwarded to her or the Chair of Governors, Mohammed Ummar Azam, who is also the Lead Governor for Safeguarding. They can be contacted any time via their contact details on our contact us page.

For full information and further details, please refer to our Safeguarding Policy on our policies page.

You can also find our E-Safety Policy, Behaviour Policy (Including Anti-Bullying), Safer Recruitment Policy and Recruitment of Ex-Offenders Policy on our policies page.
